The Grand National has hogged the headlines today as the festival kicks off with seven races over the course of the day. Our reporters are on the ground at Aintree Racecourse and will be throughout the festival.
Elsewhere in the news, the family of Ava White, the 12 year old girl who died after being stabbed in the neck with a flick-knife in 2021, is working to install bleed control kits in every public place in the city and thanked the Archdiocese of Liverpool as it supported their campaign by installing the kits in all 37 of their parish centres.

Woman's jaw broken by teen mob in retail park attack
A woman was left with a broken jaw as part of an "appalling" attack on her and two friends at a retail park in Runcorn. Four teenagers have admitted taking part in the attack and at the time Cheshire Police said the women had been assaulted by a group of about 10 youths, who punched and kicked the women and then fled, some on bikes.
Hospital issues warning after urban explorers get inside old building
The Royal Liverpool Hospital was forced to issue the warning after 'urban explorers' gained access to the old building after their move to a new site last year. Under the name britishpranks, two men can be seen inside the old building.
Lights are still on inside and a bell can be heard, despite being decommissioned towards the end of last year. The hospital said they will take action against "anyone trespassing, as we did with these individuals" referencing the men in the video.
Passengers sought as teen hit by bus remains in a serious condition
Merseyside Police are appealing for two passengers on an Arriva bus at the time it hit an 18-year-old man last Thursday night. The teenager remains in a serious condition in hospital, police confirmed.
