Unless you're new around here, you'll know I spend my time trialling the collection of new beauty products that make their debut each month. While July's agenda consisted of lathering up one of the best cleansers and slathering on the best eye cream, you can also find me testing serums, fragrances, mascaras (and everything in between).
This also means I'm well-versed at picking out the crème de la crème of the beauty launch lineup. So, without further ado, these are the eight buys that stood out from the rest throughout July, from a trendy milky matcha face mist to a clever root touch-up stick – plus much more.

After testing dozens of products this month, there are only a handful of products that have made the cut as the very best, including one of the best hair masks that arrives in a jumbo size and a long-lasting lipstick that requires no top-ups...

Let me tell you, I hardly ever wear my hair up out of the house due to my uneven and sparse hairline – it takes a lot of time and gel to manoeuvre the strands to make it appear fuller. But that all changed when I trialled this 2-in-1 root cover-up stick from Laura Geller. With a cream on one end and powder on the other, you can either wear the formulas on their own or layer the two together for ultimate coverage. The confidence this nifty little stick gave me to wear my hair up was unmatched. Not only does it do an impressive job at filling in any sparse areas of fine or thinning hair, but it would be great for touching up your roots in between hair appointments too.

Now, I love a face mist and a matcha, so this launch had my name written all over it. Not only is this bi-phase milky mist great for delivering instant hydration and a radiance boost, but it also works to repair, strengthen and brighten the complexion – thanks to its potent botanical and vitamin-packed formula. It was even one of the beauty products that I kept in the fridge for a soothing, cooling and refreshing spritz during the heatwave weather.

I usually struggle with dry under-eyes, which in turn causes my makeup to crease and cling to any dry patches. Thankfully, one of my favourite K-beauty brands, Anua, has just launched a PDRN Caffeine Rejuvenating Eye Cream that works to hydrate and revitalise the eye area. This lightweight formula encourages increased skin elasticity, minimises puffiness, banishes signs of fatigue and leaves the skin smooth – all of which is further aided by its cooling metal tip applicator. Since introducing this eye cream into my routine, I've noticed my makeup applies far more nicely than before.

As someone who doesn't like the sensory experience of applying sunscreen (that heavy, sticky and claggy feeling), I opted for Rituals' The Ritual of Karma SPF 50 Foaming Sunscreen for my recent trip to Ibiza. This sunscreen is reminiscent of a shaving foam, delivering an airy, mousse-like formula that glides on and quickly absorbs into the skin. Forget any stickiness; this hydrating sunscreen is so lightweight that it leaves the skin protected and soft-to-touch. Plus, it's water-resistant too.

News just in, Tatcha's Matcha Foam Cleanser has been upgraded. Now, I tried the original formula; however, my main qualm was that it felt like it stripped my skin of all its essential moisture, so I'm pleased to report back that this new-and-improved cleanser doesn't follow suit. Boasting a vibrant green hue, this formula has a slightly gummier texture that effortlessly foams up, gently cleaning away dirt, grime, leftover makeup and impurities. Once washed off, my complexion feels calm and delicately cleansed, with no sign of any excess oil. This is how to do a reformulation right.

When these lippies landed on our desk, the woman&home team were overjoyed, especially w&h Celebrity Writer, Ariana Longson. As someone with large pores, this new launch from Beauty of Joseon immediately piqued my interest. This lightweight, water-based serum is powered by plant-based Red Bean PDRN™ and low-molecular vegan peptides to target the five main causes of large pores – loss of elasticity, excess sebum, dead skin buildup, puffiness and skin heat. I focused on my T-zone as it's the area that gets the oiliest and has the largest pores. I noticed that it quickly absorbed into the complexion, with my skin immediately feeling firmer after application. My skin didn't get oily as quickly as it usually does, and I did notice an improvement in the appearance of my pores.

If your strands are in need of some TLC, you'll be pleased to know that No98's bestselling hair mask now arrives in an XL 500ml version. Doing exactly what it says on the tin, this formula is powered by the brand's Hydra Bond Complex to restore elasticity, protect against UV and friction damage, strengthen strands, boost shine and aid manageability – is there anything it doesn't do? My hair was given a swishy bounce, without weighing my fine strands down.
