The 2022 Oscar nominations have been announced and a some of Ireland's finest talent is in with a chance of winning the golden statue this year.
The nominations were announced by Tracee Ellis Ross and Leslie Jordan.
This year's awards will take place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles on March 27. Oscar nominees are chosen by members of their respective branches.
This year's theme is Movie Lovers Unite.
Caitriona Balfe, who was tipped for a nomination for her role in Belfast, did not get nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category. Although, a nomination in this category went to Kerry actor Jessie Buckley for her role in The Lost Daughter as well as Caitriona's Belfast co-star Judi Dench.
Belfast was also nominated for Achievement In Sound, Original Screenplay and Best Picture.
Kin star Ciaran Hinds was also nominated for the Best Supporting Actor category for his role in Belfast.
Belfast was also nominated for Original Song for Down To Joy.
Belfast director Kenneth Branagh was nominated for Achievement in Directing.
