The 94th edition of the Annual Academy Awards got underway on Sunday night with an emphatic performance from Beyonce.
Queen Bey, 40, wasn't at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood and instead took to tennis courts in Compton as she belted out an ornate performance of her King Richard song titled Be Alive.
She was introduced by tennis star sisters Venus and Serena Williams, who the hit movie focussed on along with their dad.
The song is Beyonce's first Academy Award nomination and she was joined by dancers and an orchestra in the same matching tennis ball green.
She started by saying telling her troupe: "I want you to tell these people where we are."
“City of Compton,” they replied, in the style of Tupac Shakur’s “California Love.”
And fans were quick to spot Beyonce and Jay-Z's daughter Blue Ivy, 10, among the singers' backing group.
One fan took to Twitter to express their delight at the songstress's opening song with her daughter, simply snapping a shot of the youngster and writing: "Is that Blue Ivy Carter front and center?!!! Sis is employed!! #Oscars."
Another penned: "Beyoncé was amazing per usual and Blue Ivy is growing up so much."
And a third wrote: "Blue Ivy in Beyoncés Oscar’s 2022 performance. She’s gorgeous like her mother #Oscars."
Beyonce impressed onlookers with the brilliant performance as she dazzled throughout and gave a shoutout to Compton during her set.
It's the third time the Crazy In Love singer has performed at the ceremony.
She first took to the stage in 2005 when she sang various best-original-song nominees live, including “Learn to Be Lonely” from The Phantom of the Opera.
In 2007 she performed another medley of songs. Her performance then took in a host of Dreamgirls tracks alongside her costars Jennifer Hudson, Anika Noni Rose, and Keith Robinson.
And fans were just as impressed with her 2022 performance.
Again taking to Twitter, fans let their feelings known, with one fan gushing: "Look at Beyoncé’s manager SHOWING YOU ALL HOW IT’S DONE!! That’s my Queen BLUE IVY. #Oscars"
Another wrote: "Legendary vocal performance by Beyoncé at the 2022 #Oscars."
A third said: "Beyoncé is a top tier performer she never fails to amaze me #Oscars."
Her song was nominated in the Best Original Song and went up against Dos Oruguitas from Encanto, No Time to Die from James Bond - written and performed by Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell - Somehow You Do from Four Good Days, and Down to Joy from Belfast, which was written by Van Morrison.
