ORGANISERS of The Enchanted Forest in Pitlochry have confirmed that tonight's show will not go ahead.
Visitors were expected at the Scottish sound and light show as it marks its 21st year at Faskally Wood in Pitlochry, Perthshire.
The wood has again been transformed by sound, light and video for The Enchanted Forest show, this year changing into an underwater forest in keeping with the theme of From the Deep.
However, taking into consideration a number of factors including the weather situation in and around Pitlochry, the number of transport incidents, personnel requirements to operate the event safely, and the current conditions on site, it has been deemed no longer safe to proceed with the event.
Organisers said: "We are sorry for any inconvenience caused by this decision but we are sure you will understand that the safety of our staff and visitors is of the utmost importance.
"All visitors booked to attend tonight will receive communication direct from SEE Tickets on Monday, October 9 to enable you to exchange your tickets to an available remaining date or, if no dates are suitable, request a refund."
The show is their largest and most technically advanced to date, with more lights and installations than previously, and more than 80,000 visitors are expected.
Installations include The Beastie in the Boathouse – which reveals a monster lurking as visitors make their way around the loch – and the Tamu Massif depicting an underwater volcano.
As previously, there is a light show over Loch Dunmore, this year titled Living Light on Loch, projecting bioluminescent marine creatures on to the water.
The final installation, Purpose, involves a soundtrack with local school pupils singing the Gaelic phrase “sgaoil an solus” which organisers said means “share the light”.
The show runs will resume and run until November 2.
