Oregon teen, 16, earns Honor Medal after rescuing couple at 14

For Elijah Buckwald, a routine drive through Oregon’s Santiam Pass became one of those moments when, at just 14, he found himself standing on an overturned pickup truck, helping strangers trapped inside after a serious crash. Two years later, that instinct to step forward has earned the Redmond teenager national recognition, states an online report by KTVZ21 News.
