Chat show queen Oprah Winfrey’s interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is now the stuff of legend following some ‘bombshell’ moments during their controversial chat in 2021.
But the 68-year-old has insisted it was never her plan to extract some juicy morsels from the pair. She said she just wanted to give them a platform to tell their story and was as surprised as any when they dropped a few sensational claims into the conversation, the Mirror reported.
She told Gayle King on CBS: “I was as surprised by the bombshell as everybody else. I was doing an interview to offer them a platform to tell their story about why they left, and my number one intention was just clarity on 'why did you leave?’”
