Well, who’d have thought it? Rachel Reeves – “Rachel from Accounts” as City wags call her – is reported to have had a counter-austerity policy in respect of company expenses when she worked as a manager at Halifax Bank of Scotland (HBOS).
A former HR executive told The Times that the claims Reeves was forced to leave the company over an expense scandal were "absolutely true", and that her "department had a culture of misuse of spending" - an accusation Rachel Reeves herself has strongly denied.
