OPINION - It was never going to be Brooklyn Beckham: Nigella Lawson will be the perfect Great British Bake Off host

As funny as it would’ve been to see Brooklyn Beckham be drafted in to present The Great British Bake Off, it’s hard to think of anyone better than Nigella Lawson to replace Prue Leith.

Leith had been a mainstay on the reality baking show since 2017, after it moved from the BBC to Channel 4, but announced last week that it was the right time to take her leave: “Bake Off has been a fabulous part of my life for the last nine years, I have genuinely loved it… But now feels like the right time to step back. I’m 86 for goodness sake!”
