Opening Night Live 2026 time and how to watch – Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, The Witcher 3 Songs of the Past DLC, and more have already been confirmed to appear

Gamescom is upon us, and as thousands descend on Cologne, Germany, to get their hands on upcoming games, Geoff Keighley is gearing up to kick off the show with Gamescom Opening Night Live. The two-hour showcase will air on Tuesday before the actual show floor opens later this week, giving us a look at games available at the show and beyond.

While gaming showcases are usually a bit too secretive, we actually have a pretty good idea of what to expect this time around. Headlining the event is a double bill of massive RPGs, with Final Fantasy 7 Revelation set to be getting a new look with director Naoki Hamaguchi set to appear while CD Projekt Red has confirmed it will be giving us a first look at the upcoming expansion to The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past.

Elsewhere, we have had it confirmed that Konami will be showing more of Silent Hill Townfall, Gears of War: E-Day will be making an appearance, and sci-fi title Exodus will be getting a new trailer.

As for what could appear, many are hoping for an update on Resident Evil: Veronica, which was revealed at Keighley's Summer Game Fest showcase. And given the friendship between the two, there's always hope we'll see one of the upcoming Hideo Kojima games, although OD is far more likely than a look at Physint.

The rumor mill also claims we'll be seeing a new game in the Ori series, however, Moon Game Studios CEO Thomas Mahler has shot down these rumors.

Granted, the rumor mill also says that it'll be developed by a new team, as Microsoft owns the IP, so there's a chance it could make an appearance.
