An OnlyFans model has been arrested at a rehab facility and charged with murdering her boyfriend months after the attack.
26-year-old Courtney Clenney insisted she stabbed her boyfriend Christian Obumseli, 27, in self-defence.
On Wednesday police in Hawaii detained her and charged her with second-degree murder with a deadly weapon.
Her lawyer, Frank Prieto, said he was "completely shocked", as they were fully cooperating with the investigation and offered to voluntarily surrender her if she were charged.
"We look forward to clearing her name in court," he said.
Police found the wounded 27-year-old at a luxury apartment building in Miami, Florida in April.
And the model was then swiftly detained by officers and later taken to a mental institution.
Mr Obumseli was rushed to a nearby hospital but couldn't be saved by medics.
It has been reported that their two-year relationship was full of ups and downs with police often being called to their home.
Since moving to Miami at the beginning of the year, staff and residents at the One Paraiso building reported multiple domestic disturbance complaints about the couple and were hoping to evict the pair.
Mr Prieto said the night of the incident, Clenney was forced to stab Obumseli after he grabbed her by the throat.
But Mr Obumseli's brother said the reason she was not charged immediately was because of her "privilege" as a "wealthy white woman" and not because of her self-defence claim.
"The bottom line is inextricably clear: Courtney is being treated differently because of her privilege as a wealthy White woman," Jeffrey Obumseli wrote on Instagram.
After Ms Obumseli was initially charged she was then released and was staying at the Grand Beach Hotel in Miami when she was confronted by hotel guests who filmed the encounter.
Guests can be heard saying "you killed your boyfriend".
An eyewitness said: "She was just sitting at the bar like everything was normal and people started to recognise her."
The victim's brother also slammed her for this, saying she was "casually getting drinks at a hotel bar" while his "brother lay in the morgue".
Mr Obumseli's family said they face a long road to seek justice as they remember a man whose "infectious smile could light up any room".
Their statement continued: "Christian was extremely compassionate with a desire always to uplift those around him. He did not deserve for his life to be cut short by a heinous act of violence."
The couple's friends give differing accounts of who was abusive.
