Chances are, if you have scrolled past a fashion blogger on Instagram and admired their choice of footwear, they might just be wearing a pair of Onitsuka Tigers.
The Japanese luxury brand is currently celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2024, and has marked this milestone by launching a new collection of footwear, aptly called ‘The Onitsuka’.
Described as a brand that ‘stands for pleasure over extravagance’, it is known for its boutique collections of beautiful, timeless designs.
All of its pieces are made in Japan and the new collection is made to be a capsule piece in your wardrobe, one that you can pair with anything, and one that will last.

For the past seven decades we have worked to combine tradition and modernity, offering our clients products that embody our vision hinged on comfort and innovative design while respecting our artisanal heritage,” Ryoji Shoda, chief executive officer of Onitsuka Tiger, told WWD earlier this year.
“Looking ahead we are committed to keep launching new projects with passion and ambition to inspire present and future generations, in sync with our founder’s visions and principles that inspired him to establish Onitsuka Tiger 75 years ago.”
The Onitsuka footwear range – which is perfect for the office – sees the brand’s signature styling elevated with the use of cow glass leather made from Kobe beef, and the heel of the shoe equipped with GEL Foam to increase shock absorbency. The outer sole is made from rubber, adding a further cushioning element to the range.
The new range has a monk shoe, along with hi- and low-top sneakers, and a brogue too – the latter finished using traditional techniques of Japanese craftsmen in Himeji. Read on for our top picks from Ontisuka’s new range.
