After suffering an injury and missing several games last season, many analysts haven’t viewed Vikings star receiver Justin Jefferson as the top wide receiver in the NFL.
That role now belongs to the Dolphins’ electric receiver Tyreek Hill. Five Pro Football Focus analysts were asked who would lead the NFL in receiving yards and three of the five picked Hill. One picked Dallas receiver Ceedee Lamb, and Gordon McGuinness chose Justin Jefferson.
Since coming into the NFL in 2020, Jefferson has caught for 1,000 yards or more every year. Even during the 2023 injury-plagued season, Jefferson managed to catch for 1,074 yards while catching passes from different quarterbacks.
Once again, Jefferson will have a new quarterback throwing him the football in 2024. Sam Darnold has the reigns for this season. With J.J. McCarthy’s season over, Darnold has the opportunity to lead the Vikings’ offense for the entire year and gain chemistry with one of the best receivers in football.
