Leading facilities and environmental services firm, MSS Group, has been acquired by RSK.
The value of the deal for the Cardiff headquartered business has not been disclosed, but sees its chief executive Bill Mayne remaining at the helm under the new ownership with a focus on further expansion both in the UK and potentially internationally.
Acquisitive Cheshire headquartered RSK is a global leader in environmental, engineering and sustainability solutions. It has revenues of £1bn and a global workforce of more than 8,000.
In its financial year to the end of March, 2021, MSS generated revenues of £31m with a gross profit of 35.5%. It was named last year as one of the fastest-growing indigenous firms in Wales after being ranked 35th in the Wales Fast Growth 50 initiative.
Its 600-strong workforce operates primarily in highly regulated and hazardous environments- providing industrial and commercial cleaning, waste management, asbestos removal, water treatment, security services and more.
Clients include large multinational businesses, tier one contractors and public sector bodies.
Mr Mayne said: “We are delighted that MSS has joined the RSK group of companies. I believe that the opportunities created through the acquisition will enable MSS to grow even more strongly, to the benefit of its staff, clients and suppliers. Both companies share many similar values and beliefs which will ensure the culture of MSS can continue as before.”
Alan Ryder, chief executive, said RSK, said, “MSS Group is another great addition to the RSK family and I am excited to begin looking at how we can all work together to bring the best offering to our clients.
“Through MSS joining us, RSK will be able to enter the facilities services sector and increase its compliance services in relation to water treatment. Our current asbestos offering is also now greatly enhanced.”
