If it seems like there’s a lot of bad calls being made by umpires these days in Major League Baseball, it’s because it’s true—some of the guys in blue are just really bad at their jobs.
The latest example of this came in Saturday’s Rays-Guardians game in Cleveland when C.B. Bucknor rang up Bo Naylor on a pitch that did actually find the strike zone.
So what was the problem with this strikeout call? It was only strike two on Naylor, who quickly pointed that out to Bucknor. Thankfully, he was able to correct his mistake but this was not a good look:

Bucknor has just been awful this season:
C.B. Bucknor has missed over 250 balls and strikes calls this season in 22 games behind the plate and that's a lot.

He has an 11-game streak with 10+ missed calls. pic.twitter.com/TsCjZgHpqg
MLB fans crushed him for his mistake:
I can’t believe this man is still an umpire in Major League Baseball https://t.co/uwCQ2CYEDb
