Officers are investigating after a man tragically died following a 'serious' medical episode during a collision in Wigan.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) say they were called to Gidlow Lane in Wigan at approximately 7:35pm on Monday (March 27) following reports of a collision. A car is reported to have mounted the pavement between Diamond Street and Emerald Street, before coming off at the junction of Emerald Street, where it collided with another car.
The driver is suspected to have suffered a 'serious' medical episode and was rushed to hospital for treatment, where he sadly died, police say. Officers are asking anyone who has any information about the incident to get in touch.

In a statement, GMP said: "At approximately 7:35pm on Monday 27 March 2023, officers were called to reports of a collision on Gidlow Lane in Wigan.
"A car is reported to have been travelling along Gidlow Lane when it mounted the pavement between Diamond Street and Emerald Street . The car continued travelling along the pavement before coming off at the junction of Emerald Street where it collided with another car.
"It then continued moving and further collided with a garden wall of a residential property before coming to stop. The driver was suspected to have suffered a serious medical episode and was taken to hospital for treatment. He has since tragically passed away.
"Officers are now appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident and who may have footage - including CCTV, doorbell or dashcam - to please get in touch.
