The Boston Celtics have traded for Philadelphia 76ers wing Jaden Springer. What do we know about him and what he can bring to the Celtics? The 6-foot-4 combo guard is a defensive menace, but also still a bit raw at just 21 years old.
With his age aligned with Boston’s younger core on a deal he will be expected to grow into a larger role on the offensive end of the court. Springer’s defensive skills will have him a helpful emergency option should the Celtics need additional wing depth. He won’t play much with the parent club this season in games against tougher opponents, but Boston could give him run againt sub-.500 teams and with the Maine Celtics.
