Olympic bronze medalist Rob Heffernan is to join the Cork senior football team as a performance coach for the 2023 season.
The 44-year-old legendary Irish Olympian was confirmed to be a part of new Cork manager John Cleary's backroom set-up by the County Board on Friday evening.
Heffernan will join Kevin Walsh, Ray Keane, Barry Corkery, James Loughrey, and Mícheál Ó Cróinín, who have all been confirmed as selectors for the new season.

Heffernan competed in five Olympic Games for Ireland between 2000 and 2016. He won bronze at the 2012 Olympics in the 50k race-walk event in London.
The Corkman initially finished fourth in the race but was eventually awarded the bronze medal three years later after Sergey Kirdyapkin of Russia was stripped of his gold medal for a failed doping test.
In 2013, Heffernan took home Gold at the World Championships in Moscow in a time of 3:57:54.
Rob is also the father of young soccer prodigy Cathal, who is on the books at Italian giants AC Milan.
