Olly Murs recoils as he signs suggestive message requested by fan after backlash over 'misogynistic' lyrics

The Voice coach Olly Murs told his fiancee "sorry babe" after recoiling while writing a cheeky message for a fan. The Troublemaker singer, who confirmed he was engaged to his bodybuilder partner Amelia Tank in June, was signing a vinyl album for a supporter named Tracey when he was shocked by her message request for him.

In a comical moment captured on camera the singer was left stunned after being instructed to sign his new album Marry Me with some rather suggestive words. A voice could be heard telling him to sign: "To Tracey, my wedding's off, I want you instead."

A dumbfounded Olly asked: "My what? My wedding's off?" And as he reeled from the message he struggled to sign the album. "Oh wow. I can't even spell wedding," he said.

"And she wants 'love Olly'" he was told. An obliging Olly turned to the camera in the clip shared on his social media as he joked: "I'm sorry darling, the wedding's off." He added in disbelief: "Cheeky Tracy. I can't even spell I'm shaking."

He wrote alongside the clip to Amelia: "Sorry babe, looks like the wedding is officially off." He added to his fans: "So you can be like Tracey and put the message you’d like written on my new album in the comments section at checkout, then that’s what I’ll be writing!! Keep it clean guys."

Olly, who shot to fame on the X Factor in 2009, was signing album covers following criticism over lyrics on his latest track I Hate You When You're Drunk, which has been slammed as "misogynistic." The star’s new single has rubbed some people the wrong way as it details a partner’s behaviour on a heavy night of drinking.

The lyrics include: "Oh, you're slurrin' all your words, there's make-up on my shirt. You're dancin' on the tables, can't you see that you look like a mess and you're singin' Whitney? Oh, I hate you, hate you, I hate you, hate you when you're drunk."

@UnderBOAC fumed on Twitter as the song was played on Radio 2: "Enough with this misogynistic Olly Murs song @BBCRadio2 No wonder why I stopped listening." And @ritchieblyth said: "This is an absolute shocker from @ollymurs FYI, the woman referred to in the song sounds like she'd be a good laugh on a night out."

@karynmoo wrote: "I'm glad to see people talking about how c**p and misogynistic the lyrics are to Olly Murs' new song...disappointed @BBCRadio2 still have it on repeat this week." And @SusanRidley4 pleaded with Radio 2: "Please please please take @ollymurs disgusting misogynistic cruel song off your playlist and let alone record of the week. Read the lyrics. What were you thinking!!"

But @tasha_lucia_x said: "100% everyone who knows me will relate to this song." @JessicaFrancesM said: "Can’t believe I’ve just read an article saying people are offended over @ollymurs new song. Why can’t anybody do anything there’s absolutely nothing wrong with it."

@courtnie_213 said: "The fact people are upset at @ollymurs new song is just ridiculous." And @TMG76 commented: "Adore @ollymurs

new song I Hate You When You're Drunk...been sober for over 2 years now and this song could have been written by my daughter or husband!"

Olly recently shared a video of himself performing the track on the piano for Amelia. At first she threw back her head laughing and as Olly broke off from the song in stitches, she exclaimed: "Wow."

"Think she took it quite well," he captioned the video with laughing emojis and a clenched teeth emoji. And Amelia jokingly replied: "The weddings off."
