Ollie Pope has revealed who the best and worst footballers are in the current England cricket team.
England enjoy playing football as part of their training sessions and Jonny Bairstow even invited ex-England goalkeeper and avid cricket fan Nigel Martyn to play with them on the outfield at Headingley ahead of a Test match against the West Indies in 2017.
And in an appearance on Soccer AM, Pope was asked by former Premier League midfielder Jimmy Bullard to name the best five-a-side team from the current England setup. "I'd have myself in," Pope replied.
"Jos Buttler is a good footballer, Chris Woakes would probably be Kevin de Bruyne really. He's a lovely baller.
"Jimmy Anderson is a nice footballer and Ben Foakes maybe, he's a goalhanger and there's no offside rule [in five-a-side]." But Pope had no hesitation in naming the worst player among the England side, picking all-rounder Sam Curran.
"He is as bad as there is at football," Pope added. "He loves it and he'll put himself about, but he's honking."
Pope, meanwhile, showed off his skills Soccer AM Pro AM challenge, scoring two penalties, hitting the crossbar and only just missing out on a brilliant one v one goal after flicking the ball over the goalkeeper's head.
And fans were impressed by Pope's football skills, with one writing: "Ollie Pope was better than a lot of 'pros' that have been on the show before". "Ollie chose the wrong profession," joked a second.
"Now we know why cricketers play football in their warmup…," added another. "Love how Pope is doing all this in Travis Scott 1's like a £1000 shoe nearly," joked a fourth.
