Olivia Attwood reveals she’s been in talks about I’m A Celebrity return

Olivia Attwood has revealed she’s been in talks about returning to I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! after she was forced to quit the series just a day into the 2022 instalment for medical reasons.

Appearing on Monday’s Loose Women, the 32-year-old acknowledged she’s been in talks about a potential comeback to this year’s jungle following her early departure.

The former Love Island star confirmed: “We’ve had chats”, when asked about a return by Judi Love to which the audience let out a loud: “Oooh!” in excitement.

The reality TV star dropped out of the ITV series in November after a routine blood test showed she was anaemic.

The check, which all contestants undergo, also revealed low sodium and potassium levels, prompting show staff to rush her to hospital.

Attwood said she was left disappointed for having to depart after just 24 hours in the Australian jungle.

In an interview following her exit, she said: “I was so scared. I was like ‘What the hell is wrong with me?’. They couldn’t give me an answer.

“They just told me they had to get me to the hospital immediately. The results were really, really low.”

But the TV star said when the tests were repeated, they came back normal and was then taken to a hotel to sleep while ITV decided whether she could re-enter the camp.

Attwood added: “They said because of the results the show’s medical team got, they were not happy to sign me off to come back in, even though I had the clean bill of health from the hospital.

“They feared my levels might drop and it could be detrimental to my health and wellbeing.”

Speaking on Jamie Laing’s podcast, Private Parts, Attwood admitted she cried the whole way from the jungle to the UK: “I don’t cry… and I cried the whole way back from Australia – the whole flight.”

The Standard have contacted ITV and Olivia Attwood’s reps for comment.
