Oleksandr Zinchenko, Thomas Partey, Nelson: Arsenal injury news and return dates vs Aston Villa

Arsenal continued their perfect start to the Premier League season on Saturday evening as they came from one goal down to beat Fulham at the Emirates Stadium.

Goals from Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Magalhaes cancelled out Aleksandar Mitrovic's opener in north London. The Gunners, though, now need to keep this momentum up as they take on Aston Villa on Wednesday evening.

Here, football.london takes a look at the injury latest within the Arsenal squad after their 2-1 win over the Cottagers ahead of Wednesday night's game with Aston Villa.

Oleksandr Zinchenko

Zinchenko had featured in every Premier League for the Gunners since making the transfer switch from Manchester City. However, he missed out on Arsenal's Saturday evening victory over Fulham due to injury.

football.London's Arsenal reporter Kaya Kaynak tells us that Zinchenko suffered a slight sprain to his left knee from Friday afternoon training session. As a precaution, he was left out of the matchday squad against Fulham and will continue to be assessed.

Thomas Partey

Similarly to Zinchenko, Partey had featured in every Premier League for the Gunners leading up to the game against Fulham. However, he missed the 2-1 victory over the Whites due to injury.

Kaynak also reported that the Ghanaian has a tight right thigh from Friday afternoon's training session, as he will also continue to be assessed ahead of next week.

Reiss Nelson

Young winger Nelson suffered an injury problem in training last week and is likely set for a significant time on the treatment table, as per Arteta.

The 22-year-old, whose last Arsenal outing was a year ago against Brentford, remains the only absentee for Arteta's side.

What Arteta has said : "Everybody has trained this week and everybody is fine apart from Reiss who you know has been injured for a few weeks now.

"He felt something in training, we scanned him, and the doctor came with bad news. It’s a muscular injury; hopefully, he will be back soon. [We don't know how long for] yet. They need to do another test."
