Oleksandr Zinchenko reveals what he likes most about Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta

Arsenal fullback Oleksandr Zinchenko has admitted that Mikel Arteta was the only Premier League manager he wanted to play under after deciding to leave Manchester City last summer.

The Ukrainian international won four league titles during his time at City, two of which when Arteta was Pep Guardiola's assistant coach at the Etihad Stadium. However, Arteta wanted to manage a team of his own, eventually becoming Gunners boss back in December 2019 before prising Zinchenko away from the Citizens last summer.

The 26-year-old's first season in north London has been a huge success, helping his side build up an eight-point gap at the top of the table, albeit City in second place do have a game in hand on their title rivals. Now, Zinchenko has spoken extremely highly of Arteta, praising the Spaniard's desire to win as one of his greatest attributes

"The impact he had and has right now for me is a lot. I said many times one day if I am going to leave City and stay in the Premier League it will be [for] only one manager, which is him," he told Sky Sports when speaking about his boss.

"The way he sees football, his vision, his character, he is a winner. That is what I like the most from people. Obviously he knew me as a player and a person when he called me, I had a couple of conversations before I joined Arsenal.

"He told me what he wants to see from me, the club's vision, the club's plan and strategy. I liked everything of that and that is why I came."
