The New England Patriots have released their list of inactive players ahead of their Week 1 matchup with the Miami Dolphins, and one of the names on there was a bit of a surprise.
Outside linebacker Anfernee Jennings, who gained significant ground throughout training camp and the preseason, was listed among seven inactive players for the season-opener.
It’s a disappointing turn of events considering Jennings was expected to play a big role in the rejuvenated linebacking corps for the Patriots. His absence could be missed against a Dolphins offense with a lot of speed on the field.
Guard Chasen Hines, defensive tackle Sam Roberts, defensive back Joshuah Bledsoe, running back Pierre Strong, quarterback Bailey Zappe and cornerback Shaun Wade were also listed as inactive for the Patriots.

However, the good news is that starting offensive tackle Isaiah Wynn will play against the Dolphins. He made significant progress throughout the week, as he resumed practicing with the team upon arrival to Miami.
The hope is that his presence helps stabilize an offensive line that has struggled throughout the preseason.
