An Oklahoma man allegedly stole a truck when he could not find a ride to a court date he had for allegedly stealing another vehicle.
Kody Adams had reportedly been walking around a gas station in Stillwater asking people for a ride to the courthouse.
When he was not able to find a ride, got into an unoccupied LifeNet emergency services pickup that had been left running and drove off, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Officials said he drove the vehicle about 30 minutes to the courthouse before ditching the vehicle and walking to the building, which is where he was arrested by a trooper.
"First responders had an idea of where that vehicle might be located," Preston Cox, with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, told KOCO. "The trooper did make sure he made his court case."
The court date that Adams had been trying to make was also for possession of a stolen vehicle. He was able to attend his original court date, before officials took him back to Payne County where he was booked on new charges.
