Oklahoma City Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault said on Friday before the team’s game against the Miami Heat that the team will give an injury update on Josh Giddey at the end of next week.
Giddey has been out since Feb. 24 as he deals with hip soreness. The Thunder’s regular season ends on April 10, which is about three weeks from now. If there are any risks of Giddey further injuring his hip, I doubt the Thunder will rush him back and would opt into letting him miss out on the rest of the regular season.
In 54 games this season, Giddey has averaged 12.5 points, 7.8 rebounds and 6.4 assists while winning Rookie of the Month in all four months he played in before getting injured.
