The first G League assignments of the season for rookies Ousmane Dieng and Jaylin Williams lasted roughly a day.
After being sent to the Oklahoma City Thunder’s G League affiliate, the Oklahoma City Blue, on Friday, the team recalled both forwards on Saturday before the team’s road game against the Dallas Mavericks.
Both players will likely go back and forth between the teams to give them consistent minutes and avoid getting cold from the bench. It will likely be more frequent when the G League season starts in November.
After five games, Dieng averages 1.8 points, 1.6 rebounds and 13 minutes. In one game, Williams has four points and six rebounds.
Dieng was selected with the 11th overall pick in the first round and Williams was selected with the 34th overall pick in the second round of the 2022 NBA draft.
