Ohio State as well as the rest of the college football world waited to hear what school Jayden Bonsu would commit to on July 20. That date came and went and no word was given. Then the four-star safety announced that he will be committing on August 14, closer to his original date of August 20.
Some may say the young man is unsure, but let’s be fair… this is a pretty big decision. Bonsu, who is a New Jersey native, will pick between Ohio State, Alabama, Michigan State, Miami, and Penn State. The Hurricanes have all the crystal ball predictions, but there is talk that Bonsu may be leaning toward the Buckeyes.
While Ohio State already has two commitments at the safety position so far in Malik Hartford and Cedrick Hawkins, they are still looking to add another. Some question why the need and the answer lies with Jim Knowles’ defensive scheme. It is very safety driven and word is that Bonsu would fit perfectly at the Bandit position in Knowles’ defense.
I will be committing August 14th at 4pm , any media that is interested in streaming the event please contact me or @coachnazoliver Where is Home? pic.twitter.com/VUdysBAzYI

We hope to find out for sure where the talented safety plans to play on August 14. The defensive staff could certainly use a win in the recruiting wars.
