The Ohio State softball team broke the seal on the 2023 season this weekend, and it was a bit of a mixed bag. All games took place at the UCF Softball Complex in Orlando, Florida, with things getting started on Friday night.
OSU would drop the first game of the season against No. 15 to Georgia, 11-4, but then came back on Saturday with two impressive showings. The Buckeyes held their own against UCF in its stadium, losing just 1-0 in a pitcher’s dual during the first game of the day, but won the second game of the day against Boise State 8-2.
Buy Buckeyes TicketsThat would set up a getaway game on Sunday that would either make it a pretty good outing, or a disappointing one. Ohio State would finish on a high note with a 1-0 win over UMass to finish the 2023 opening weekend with two wins and two losses.
All 🙂 after a weekend-finale win.

There’s no doubt OSU wanted to perform a little better, but all in all, it wasn’t a bad body of work with the competition the Buckeyes faced.
Ohio State will now head to Clemson, South Carolina, for two games each against Notre Dame and Clemson next weekend.
