An Ohio appeals court has upheld a lender's right to enforce a $449,905 (£346,000) foreclosure judgment against a home in Cuyahoga County. The ruling ends a 17-year legal and financial dispute involving three separate loan modifications. The decision, issued on 22 October 2026 by the Eighth District Court of Appeals of Ohio, rejects arguments made by homeowner Sandra Doberdruk. It confirms that Wells Fargo Bank, the mortgage holder, has the legal right to collect the debt through foreclosure. Court records show that Doberdruk and her late husband bought the property in July 2007 and took out a mortgage to pay for the home. Her husband died two years later. After his death, Doberdruk faced serious financial difficulties, leading to repeated notices of missed payments and several agreements to change the loan terms.
