Exciting news for theater enthusiasts as the Off-Broadway comedy hit, 'Oh, Mary!', is set to make its Broadway debut this summer. The show, written by and starring Cole Escola as Mary Todd Lincoln, will grace the stage at the Lyceum Theatre for a 12-week engagement starting June 26. Opening night is scheduled for July 11, with the production running through Sept. 15.
'Oh, Mary!' offers a unique twist on history, portraying Mary Todd Lincoln as a character yearning for a different life, reimagined as a wannabe cabaret star in the weeks leading up to President Abraham Lincoln's assassination. The talented cast includes Conrad Ricamora as Abraham Lincoln, James Scully, Bianca Leigh, Tony Macht, Hannah Solow, and Peter Smith.
The show has garnered critical acclaim and enjoyed immense popularity off-Broadway, selling out its initial run and extending twice at the Lucille Lortel Theatre. Notable figures such as Steven Spielberg, Sally Field, and Tony Kushner have been among the audience members who have praised the production.
The Broadway production boasts a stellar creative team, with scenic designer dots, costume designer Holly Pierson, lighting designer Cha See, and sound design by Daniel Kluger and Drew Levy. Leah J. Loukas is in charge of wig design, Addison Heeren oversees props, and David Dabbon arranges the music. The show is produced by Kevin McCollum & Lucas McMahon and Mike Lavoie & Carlee Briglia.
