IMPHAL: With the election to the Manipur legislative assembly nearing its poll dates, necessary measures, including dispersal of polling parties, have been taken up, Manipur chief electoral officer (CEO) Rajesh Agrawal said in a statement on Thursday.
Manipur will go to the polls on February 28 and March 5 to elect 60 legislators, 40 in the valley districts and 20 in the hill districts.
The total number of electors on the final electoral roll for the elections is 20,48,169.
Meanwhile, a dry run for urgent evacuation of polling and security personnel by helicopter from remote locations for immediate medical care was conducted on Thursday.
