Officers faced ‘smell of death’ following Omagh bombing

There was a “smell of death” in the immediate aftermath of the Omagh bombing, a police officer who responded to the blast has recalled.

The Omagh Bombing Inquiry, being held at the Strule Arts Centre, heard evidence from some of the emergency responders who attended the scene of the atrocity in August 1998.
