BHUBANESWAR: Two days after the government ordered Crime Branch probe into suspicious deaths of Russian lawmaker Antov Pavel (65) and his co-traveller Bydanov Vladimir (61) in a hotel at Rayagada on December 22 and 24, a team of four officers was sent to the crime scene, about 420 km from Bhubaneswar, on Thursday.
The delayed visit to the crime spot came in the wake of non-preservation of visceral samples of Pavel by the doctors, who conducted his autopsy, raising many eyebrows on the compliance of the standard operating procedure during the investigation of a highly sensational case, has drawn international attention.
