Odell Beckham Jr. falsely reports Deebo Samuel trade

Don’t fret Ian Rapoport or Adam Schefter, it doesn’t appear that Odell Beckham Jr. will be taking your jobs anytime soon. Beckham, who remains unsigned after winning a Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams, took to Twitter to falsely report that Deebo Samuel was being traded to the New England Patriots.

Shortly after Beckham’s tweet, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero didn’t waste any time in letting the masses know that Beckham’s tweet was far from true.

It remains to be seen why Beckham chose to make a fake trade report on Samuel. While Beckham started a fire on social media, Samuel didn’t seem amused with the Pro Bowl wideout’s decision to speak on his trade status.

There have been rumors that Samuel could seek a trade from the San Francisco 49ers due to an impasse in contract talks. Following the 2022 NFL draft, it seems less likely that Samuel will be leaving the Rams’ NFC West rivals this offseason.

Among the whirlwind taking place on the bird app, maybe we’ll get an explanation as to why Beckham felt the need to create an untrue rumor about the young wideout of the 49ers.
