'Obscene cash grab': firies slam emergency services tax

Firefighters have accused a state government of using rising emergency services costs to patch up its worsening budget bottom line.

Under controversial legislation, the Victorian Labor government is seeking to replace the fire services property levy with a "fund" for emergency services and volunteers from July 1.
