Oasis' Bonehead says Liam and Noel would have very different reactions to knighthood

Liam and Noel Gallagher are not on the same page when it comes to getting a knighthood, according to Oasis guitarist Bonehead.

The Mancunian band has sold more than 70 million records worldwide and boasts a legion of loyal fans around the world.

But Bonehead, aka Paul Arthurs, reckons Liam, 50, would never accept recognition from the Palace.

Speaking about the prospect, the guitarist, 57, said Liam wouldn't accept a knighthood, but Noel, 55, would.

"I wouldn’t have it and I don’t think Liam would have it… Noel would, wouldn’t he," he said.

When asked whether he was sure the Beady Eye star would turn the honour down, Bonehead confirmed, saying: “Absolutely not, Liam wouldn’t take it, no...

"Sir Liam Gallagher, it sounds good though, doesn’t it? It sounds good, but he wouldn’t have it," he told Radio X.

Fans are desperate for Oasis to reunite after being left bereft when they split in 2009.

Liam has been teasing the prospect on social media recently and Bonehead doesn't think it's beyond the realms of possibility either.

Opening up about whether fans can expect to see the band back together, he said: "Never say never, I would say. Realistically? I don't know. Liam's got his solo career. As has Noel. I don't know... But I'd love to see it."

Noel and Liam have been feuding for years with the Beady Eye star Liam telling the BBC: "I love him to bits but we just don't get on."

However, the brothers could potentially be set for a reunion amid ongoing pressure from Oasis fans to get the iconic 90s band back together.

The sparring siblings have reportedly 'floated the idea' of going to see Manchester City play a match together.

Failing that, Noel and Liam are said to have been 'in talks' to meet for a walk in London's Hampstead Heath, which is near to both of their homes.

Lifting the lid on the brother's attempt to repair their relationship, a source told The Sun: "Noel and Liam are in contact behind closed doors. They are tentatively taking steps to meet up and rebuild their relationship."

The brothers are said to be in contact with one another 'behind closed doors' following Noel's recent split from wife Sara McDonald.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that Noel and Sara, who were married for 22 years, went their separate ways.

Throughout their 22-year-marriage, Noel's younger brother made it perfectly clear he wasn't a fan of the mum-of-two, even branding her a 'witch' at one stage.

However, when the news of the couple's split broke, Liam tweeted: "He ain't heavy, he's my brother."
