A New York congressman is pushing federal legislation aimed at changing what it means to buy a video game in the digital era. Representative Ritchie Torres announced plans for a bill that would guarantee players ownership of the games they buy instead of a license that companies can revoke.
The proposal comes as major console makers move further toward digital sales and away from physical discs. It also follows a recent sports game that is set to lose its storefront listing and online servers only two years after its release.
