Nursery worker reveals why you should never dress your tot in dungarees

As your newborn reaches the age they're finally ready to set off to nursery, there can be a huge temptation among parents to dress the little ones in adorable outfits. But one nursery worker has revealed the consequences of dressing tots in stylish get-ups.

Known as @thenursery_nurse on TikTok, the influencer has garnered an impressive 1.2 million followers by creating videos which share her nursery experiences. Such videos include essential tips for parents who are "preparing to send their little ones to nursery in September".

In a viral video with over 700,000 views, she revealed the "ten things to know if your child is starting nursery in September", which explained why you should never dress your children in dungarees

The Nursery Nurse said: "I did do a video on this before but since there's so many new followers here that we could do a refresher. So, this is ten things you need to know if your child is going to nursery in September."

Sharing an essential parenting tip, she described why you should always "dress [children] sensibly", reports the Mirror. Whilst it may seem fairly straightforward, the TikToker shared her reasoning for why this is essential for working practitioners.

She explained: "When I first started working in childcare, I would dress my daughter in the most adorable little dungarees. One day, I had to change the nappy of a child who was wearing similar dungarees to her - and I realised it's the hardest thing in the world to do.

"So, what practitioners really want is clothes that come off and on as easily as possible, particularly for nappy changes, toilet training, nap time. Dressing them sensibly will honestly help the practitioners day no end."

In awe of the helpful tips, several users of the social media app rushed to the comment section to even share helpful tips of their own.

One user wrote: "Don’t send in pull ups if they don’t need a pull up! Use a nappy, changing 15/20 nappies takes so long using pull ups!"

"We always told our infant parents to go to thrift stores/yard sales for their day care clothes," a second penned. "They will get messy and dirty!!!"

A third added: "No jeans when they are still in nappies! They're so so hard to get on and off, joggers/leggings and shorts are best."
