A former Liverpool goalkeeper insists that Sadio Mane should think about what's best for his career by leaving Anfield this summer.
AFCON hero Mane has been in scintillating form for the Reds of late and has scored 22 goals in 48 appearances for Jurgen Klopp's side this season. But with his current contract due to expire at the end of next term, reports this week have linked the winger with a move to Barcelona as part of manager Xavi's rebuild project at the Nou Camp and also Bayern Munich, with the player's agent rumoured to have spoken to the German champions' sporting director.
Liverpool will be keen to hold on to one of their most influential attackers, but ex-Reds stopper David James believes that a move to Munich could be best for Mane's career.

Speaking on Sky Sports' Football Show, James said: “I was just looking at his achievements. I think the FA Cup is the only trophy he hasn’t won in England. You add the Champions League, the Africa Cup of Nations, then this guy is in the purple patch of his career. I think he is still the record-holder for the quickest hat-trick in the Premier League as well.
“If you have an optimum time where you can make the most of a move, given that he isn’t English then, therefore, he’s a traveller. The idea of going to Germany and playing for Bayern Munich would be something that suits his overall career.
"Now is the time to do it for Sadio Mane as much as I know Liverpool fans will be saying ‘no I want him to stay till the end of his career’. If he has a perfect opportunity, then this season will be it.”
Mane has eight goals in his last 11 appearances for the Reds and will be confident of adding a first FA Cup winner's medal to his honours collection when Liverpool face Chelsea at Wembley on Saturday.
