Notts County v Bromley player ratings as Magpies disappoint in defeat

A goal on the stroke of half-time from Bromley's Jude Arthurs secured victory over Notts County who suffered their first defeat since November.

Arthurs struck when he converted from close range after Notts had failed to deal with a corner.

Up until that point, Notts had looked the most likeliest team to find a breakthrough as Ruben Rodrigues hit the post while Callum Roberts was denied twice by Mark Cousins.

Notts had plenty of possession after the break as Kyle Wootton volleyed narrowly over the bar.

Corey Whitely also hit the foot of the post for the hosts while Sam Slocombe produced a fine save to deny Scott Wagstaff.

Notts tried to find a way through the Bromley defence late on, but the hosts held firm to claim all three points.

Here's how Leigh Curtis rated the players.

Sam Slocombe: Looked a bit nervy and whacked a ball out of play under no pressure. Will be disappointed with the goal especially the defending. 5

Jayden Richardson: The full-back went on a run in the first half that was like prime Messi. Just needs to back himself more in shooting positions. 5

Richard Brindley: Didn't have the greatest of afternoons in the heart of the defence as Notts struggled to play out of the back and was substituted in the second half. 5

Alex Lacey: Couple of dodgy passes put his side under pressure and his hands full with the front two of Michael Cheek and George Alexander. Not his best afternoon. 5

Kyle Cameron: Like Brindley he stepped out of defence and caught the eye with a couple of neat passes. So comfortable in possession. 6

Joel Taylor: Got into some really good positions on the left-hand side but crossing was a bit hit and miss. Was his first start for a while and it showed. 5

Matt Palmer: Did the dogged side of the game well, but couldn't influence the game as he would have liked when usually he dictates so much. Took a booking too. 5

Zak Brunt: Clearly blessed with superb feet, but couldn't unlock the Bromley defence despite the effort and endeavour. Substituted in the second half. 5

Callum Roberts: Notts' best attacking player by some distance in the first half. Saw two shots saved by Mark Cousins and looked a real threat but influence waned. 7

Kyle Wootton: His best work came in his own box as he won numerous headers but it didn't quite happen for him at the other end of the pitch. 5

Ruben Rodrigues: Clattered the post with a strike from the edge of the box, but had a battle to keep his feet early on due to the surface. 5
