Aaron Nemane thinks Notts County should have scored even more than the four goals they got in the win over King's Lynn Town on Good Friday.
The French midfielder scored the Magpies' third goal of the afternoon on the hour mark, with Kyle Wootton, Callum Roberts and Elisha Sam also getting on the scoresheet. It was the perfect way to bounce back from the previous week's 5-1 drubbing at the hands of Torquay United, with the 4-1 victory keeping them two points above Dagenham & Redbridge in the National League table.
The former Man City player reflected on the result after the final whistle and hopes they can continue performing to this level. "Last week was a disappointing one and I obviously came on and try my best to change the score, but it didn't quite happen. The gaffer changed the team a little bit and changed the shape, and we got the 4-1 win.
"We're all happy and hopefully we can carry it on. We should have had more (goals) and I should have scored more, but we'll take the 4-1 onto next week."
Notts are currently seventh in the standings and occupying the final play-off spot with six games left to play. But rather than looking over their shoulder, they are hoping to climb even further in the hopes of securing a home tie in the play-offs.
"We're all confident and just trying to take it game by game to try and finish as high as possible," he said. "The home fans help us a lot so hopefully we get that in the play-offs."
Nemane lauded the group as a whole and lauded Harry Arter's influence on his own game as well as his leadership in the team since arriving from Nottingham Forest on loan.
"I think the group that we've got is helping me a lot, we've got a lot of good guys. I try to speak with the experienced players and that's what is keeping me going.
"Ever since [Arter] has come in he's been brilliant with all of us, he's been a real leader on the pitch and off the pitch."
