A new interactive map has revealed the worst-rated schools in Nottinghamshire and the rest of the country. In the last two years, inspectors from education watchdog Ofsted have flagged 295 schools in England as being inadequate.
Some have even been placed in special measures, according to the Ofsted data revealing inspections carried out from May 2021 - as the country started to recover from the coronavirus pandemic. The worst-rated schools from that time can now be easily found on our interactive map below.
While Ofsted inspectors may not yet have revisited schools since the last ratings, individual establishments may be taking measures to improve their standards as required by the watchdog. Ministers want 90% of 11-year olds to meet expected standards in reading, writing and maths by 2030 - up from 53% seven years ago.
