It’s almost time to reveal this year’s Nottinghamshire Top 200 businesses, an annual ranking of the county’s largest and most influential companies and its most exciting up-and-coming entrepreneurs.
The list is complete and all will be revealed next Tuesday, June 14, at a special breakfast event to be held at Nottingham Trent University.
The 2022 Nottinghamshire Top 200 list has been compiled using data from official register at Companies House, gathered over the past 12 months. The data includes companies’ latest turnover figures, and the number of staff they employ.
It is the first time the event has been held since 2019, before Covid hit. The challenges of the pandemic made compiling the list complicated, with all companies facing extraordinary circumstances and reporting anomalous results.
Companies have been ranked according to these criteria and their places compared to the last set of results, to gauge which businesses have excelled over the past three years.
As you would expect, big-hitters like Boots, automotive retail giant Pendragon, and Experian have kept their places in the top end of the list. But there has been something of an upset at the top, with the highest new entry in the 2022 list coming straight in at 20th place.
This year’s highest climber, from the property sector, has shot up a massive 65 places. And there are numerous new entrants in the latter parts of the list, a testament to the many new Nottinghamshire businesses to have emerged from the pandemic in growth mode.
Rik Pancholi, managing director of list sponsor Pattersons Commercial Law, said: "As a corporate and commercial law firm, all we do is support small and medium businesses and it’s fantastic to see new and established names amongst Nottinghamshire’s top businesses.
"When the opportunity came along to work with NottinghamshireLive to support Nottinghamshire’s Top 200 in 2022, we thought there would be no better way to going into the second half of the year, than with such a prestigious celebration.”
Watch this space for updates from the list, which we will publish in sections over the next few days and leading up to the announcement of the biggest firms, the illustrious top 20 list, after the breakfast event next Tuesday morning.
