Nottinghamshire's day by day weather forecast as school holidays set to begin amid temperature rollercoaster

Warmer weather will arrive in Nottinghamshire this week, before a cold weekend heralds the start of the school holidays. But the good news is, Easter will see higher temperatures and some sunshine.

It all adds up to a rollercoaster ride for the county where the weather is concerned. But after a cold March and a few wintry showers in parts of the UK this weekend, spring could at last be on its way as we head to Easter.

The start of the week has seen chillier temperatures, but the mercury is set to rise over the coming days, with Thursday due to bring the warmest weather according to the Met Office. Meteorologist Rachel Ayers has said that the UK is set to see "continued bands of showers or rain" throughout the rest of the week, yet temperatures will start to become warmer by Wednesday, reaching up to 15C on Thursday.

Meteorologist Aidan McGivern said: “Dry conditions on Tuesday. On Wednesday, it is likely to change again with low pressure pushing in from the west and the initial band of rain will likely fall as snow in places, mainly northern hills, before it turns back to rain."

It will be an unsettled end to next week but with temperatures recovering for the Easter weekend. On Easter Sunday, it is likely to be showery, and around 13-14C.
