A Nottinghamshire pharmacy has been forced to close after the building was hit by a car. Wells Pharmacy, in Nottingham Road, Selston, has apologised to customers after the incident which took place on Saturday, July 1.
The pharmacy has been closed since being hit by the vehicle and is expected to remain shut for 'some time' while safety checks and repairs are being carried out. Operators plan to place a 'portacabin pharmacy' in the car park temporarily so patients can continue to receive advice and prescriptions for the timebeing.
A spokesperson for Well Pharmacy said: “We’d like to apologise to customers at our Well Pharmacy – Selston, at 137 Nottingham Road, for any inconvenience caused by our having to close over the last few days.
“The closure has been due to a vehicle striking the pharmacy over the weekend. Fortunately, nobody was hurt.
“Unfortunately, with safety our primary concern for customers and staff, we’ve now ascertained through rigorous checks that for safety reasons – whilst repairs are being carried out – we may not be able to return to our normal operation from the Well Pharmacy - Selston site for some time.
“In order to minimise disruption to our customers and offer an uninterrupted service, we plan to place a bespoke portacabin pharmacy in the carpark on a temporary basis to ensure we can continue to support our patients with their prescription supplies and over-the-counter advice, support and treatment.
“We expect the temporary pharmacy to be in-situ and operating from Tuesday 18th July at the latest. In the interim, we will be supporting our patients with prescriptions from our Well Pharmacy - Kirkby, with medications being delivered directly to their homes free-of-charge and redeliveries being arranged as needed.
"Signage has been placed at the Well Pharmacy – Selston to keep customer informed of these plans, and the pharmacy team can be contacted on 01623 722071.
“We’d like to apologise again for any inconvenience caused and would like to thank our pharmacy team for their valiant efforts as well as our customers and patients for their continued patience and loyalty at this time.”
