A Nottinghamshire chippy has been named one of the 50 best fish and chip 50 takeaways in the UK. Angells Fisheries in Newark ranked as one of the best in the annual awards organised by Fry Magazine.
The family-run chip shop, in Barnby Gate, has operated since 1905 and is the oldest in the town. The accolade comes following mystery visits to shops the length and breadth of the country.
All the takeaways, restaurants and mobiles that entered will receive their mystery dining reports, and a winner’s poster and plaque to display in their shops.
