Nottingham waste collection site manager speaks out after fire closes business for 'at least one day'

The manager of a waste collection in Nottingham spoke out after the business was hit by a "significant fire" in the early hours of Monday (July 25). It comes after eight crews were called to Colson on Bulwell Lane in Old Basford.

Darren McKenzie, Basford manager at Colson, said he received a call at around 1.30am on Monday to inform him about the fire. Firefighters worked throughout the morning to put out the blaze.

Huge piles of burnt rubbish were spotted on the Colson site in Bulwell Lane. Firefighters also used an aerial ladder platform to tackle the blaze.
