Two Nottingham eateries have made the top 25 of a list of the UK's 100 best restaurants. The top ranked restaurants were named on a list decided on by food critics and diner votes, created by bar and restaurant website Squaremeal.
Sat Bains, on Lenton Lane, Nottingham, came in at 19th out of the 100 top rated restaurants. The awards summary of the eatery stated: "The Restaurant Sat Bains has set the standard for British fine dining for well over a decade, delivering precise, intricate, and measured tasting menus that regularly test the untested and explore the outer bounds of gastronomy."
The Lenton Lane restaurant recently kept its two Michelin stars. Meaning it remained the city's most highly decorated restaurant.

While Alchemilla Nottingham on Derby Road, Nottingham, came in slightly lower in 21th place. The awards summary of the restaurant stated: "Nestled in an old brick coaching house, Alex Bond’s forward-thinking Nottingham restaurant has established itself as one of the UKs best. Bond’s resourceful cooking is ingenious and delicious in equal measure."
Alchemilla, also recently preserved its prestige of one Michelin Star, which was awarded in 2019. Meanwhile the winner at the top of the list was Somerset’s Osip, which the rankings said: "This dinky dining room is dressed in muted pastels and café-style curtains, and is the brainchild of chef Merlin Labron-Johnson. His international experience at some of the world’s best restaurants is evidenced in each of his refined farm-to-table plates that have helped to gain him a formidable reputation."
