Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe has named an unchanged team for the clash with Nottingham Forest at the City Ground tonight.
Despite a public comment from the Swiss FA that Fabian Schar was "injured", the centre-back was named in the starting XI against newly promoted Nottingham Forest. It meant that Howe was able to name Schar and Sven Botman in the middle of his defence.
Kieran Trippier captains the team with Dan Burn at left-back for the Magpies. Sean Longstaff, Bruno Guimaraes and Joe Willock patrol the midfield. And in attack, Howe went again with Allan Saint-Maximin, Jacob Murphy and Alexander Isak. Despite an illness, Callum Wilson was on the bench.
Before the game, it was confirmed that Miguel Almiron had suffered a thigh injury in training, just days after scoring the winner against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
FOREST: Navas, Aurier, Niakhate, Felipe, Lodi, Shelvey, Yates, Gibbs-White, Johnson, Ayew, Dennis.
Subs: Hennessey, Worrall, Williams, Colback, Toffolo, Surridge, Freuler, Danilo, Scarpa.
